My Uncle and namesake, Lt Patrick M. Armstrong of Luling, Texas was KIA in 1942 over New Guinea.  I would like to know more about the details of his life and death--is there anyone who served with him who can provide any information.  I have many of his letters home and am interested in knowing what really happened--he was initially listed as MIA and later KIA.  Thank you in advance, and God Bless all of the WWII veterans--all war heroes.

In 85, became Avionics Engineer at McDonnell Douglas, now Boeing.  Also spent 17.5 yrs Naval Reserve & retired as Navy O-6.  Spent the last 15 yrs designing, developing, and producing the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System, the hottest fighter pilot aiming system ever - now in nearly all the F-15s, F-16s, and F/A-18s flying.  Doncha know it would take a fighter pilot - electrical engineer to get something like that to work.  Currently JHMCS Program Manager at Boeing.  Maybe I'll retire some day, but still having too much fun.  12/09

I live in DeBary, FL (35 miles NNE of Orlando) Looking back from now I'm "fully" retired...was a Private Investigator...Retired F-100 & A-7 IP at Tucson ANG (full timer Jan 1970-Nov 1986) 17 yrs as a LT/Col with 31 years military service...Riff'ed from the USAF as a Capt after 13.8 years (Apr 1956 - Dec 1969)
Will be moving "back" to live "full time" in Tucson in 2007 sometime.                  11/06
